About us

What makes us different?

At ViSTAR we don't build our reputation on aspirational phrases, but on real practices. We are an eye clinic where precision comes before speed, where every clinical decision is made with calm, judgment and responsibility.

We use technologies that truly matter: the most advanced on the market, selected for their proven ability to improve diagnosis, safety and surgical outcomes. We don't acquire equipment for appearance or trend; we choose it because it represents the best available today to care for our patients' vision.

That is ViSTAR —
Ophthalmic care that is honest, precise and grounded in facts, not promises.

Why choose us?

Five reasons our patients trust ViSTAR — each backed by more than 20 years of the team's medical experience in Ciudad Juárez.

01

We choose the treatment you actually need.

We have the full spectrum of ophthalmic techniques and procedures, and we select the option that offers the best outcome for your anatomy and needs. We don't force solutions — we use the right tool for each case.

02

Technology that empowers our physicians and benefits patients.

We work with state-of-the-art equipment because it enables more precise diagnoses and safer surgeries. Technology doesn't replace the physician — it gives them better tools to protect your vision.

03

Our patients recommend us.

Eight out of ten patients come through direct referrals. That level of trust can't be bought — it's built through results.

04

Patients return because they trust us.

We have a high follow-up appointment rate: patients return because they feel cared for, heard, and safe.

05

Over 20 years building trust.

Our physicians are part of the community, and their reputation is tied to always doing things right.

Frequently asked

What our patients ask.

Direct answers about procedures, recovery times, candidacy and cost. If you don't find what you're looking for, contact us and a specialist will reply personally.

01
Am I a candidate for refractive surgery?

Candidacy is determined in a pre-assessment including corneal topography, pachymetry, refraction and fundus exam. At ViSTAR we only operate when it truly makes sense.

02
Does FemtoLASIK hurt?

No. We use topical anesthetic drops that completely eliminate pain. The procedure lasts about 10 minutes per eye.

03
How long is recovery?

For FemtoLASIK: functional vision in 24 hours. For PRK: 5 to 10 days. For cataract with Premium IOL: clear vision in 24–48 hours.

04
How much does surgery cost at ViSTAR?

Refractive surgery ranges from $25,000 to $45,000 MXN per eye. We offer interest-free payment plans.

05
What is a Premium IOL and why choose one?

A Premium Intraocular Lens replaces the crystalline lens and lets you see far, intermediate and near without glasses.

06
Do you treat keratoconus?

Yes. We offer corneal cross-linking, intrastromal rings and scleral lenses. Early topography-based diagnosis is key.

07
How long does refractive surgery last?

The corneal change is usually stable, though vision may shift over time due to age, presbyopia or other eye conditions — natural processes independent of the surgery.

08
What should I do on the day of surgery?

Come accompanied, with no makeup or perfume. The full visit takes between 60 and 90 minutes including prep and immediate post-op.

09
Do patients come from other cities or countries?

Yes. We receive patients from Chihuahua, New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. We coordinate prior virtual consultation and surgery in the same trip when possible.

10
What technology do you use in your surgeries?

We use femtosecond laser, excimer laser with active eye tracking, and Scheimpflug systems for 3D corneal topography. Alcon, Johnson & Johnson and Zeiss platforms.
